It is the mission of the Kosciusko Fire Department and its members to provide cost-effective, high levels of service in the protection of life and property from fire, panic, and related hazards. We accomplish this by providing highly skilled services in the fire prevention, building inspection, arson investigation, and educational programs offered through our department.
The Kosciusko Fire Department responds to all fire and rescue emergencies within the city limits. When requested we also respond to emergencies in the county to assist the Attala County Fire Department. In addition to mitigating fire and rescue emergencies, we respond to life-threatening medical emergencies. The members of the Kosciusko Fire Department are proud to offer the citizens of Kosciusko fast response emergency medical care. Most of the department is EMT-B certified and can offer basic life support and assist the ambulance crew once they arrive.
To help educate the people we serve we also offer CPR classes through the American Heart Association. We offer CPR for Healthcare Providers and Heartsaver CPR for people who want to be able to help friends or family should the need arise. Just contact the department Monday-Friday 8AM to 5PM to check on the next available class.
